TICKETS FOR THE 2022 GALA ARE SOLD OUT!

The Elk River Writers Workshop culminates with its annual Gala, a big night of readings, music and a fundraising auction at the Chico Hot Springs Convention Center on Thursday, August 11, at 6 p.m. Tickets for this special event are now on sale, and include hearty appetizers, two free drinks, and a full night of entertainment.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the workshop faculty, consisting of some of the nation’s premiere nature writers: Camille Dungy, Sean Hill, J. Drew Lanham, Beth Piatote and Laura Pritchett, whose books will be available for sale. Legendary grizzly advocate and author Doug Peacock will give the keynote presentation, and Montana Quarterly publisher and Livingston icon Scott McMillion will serve as the celebrity auctioneer. Live music by Montana Rose rounds out the evening.

The auction consists of both online and live components and includes one-of-a-kind works of art, a variety of adventure packages and vacation getaways, literary items and services, and other treasures. Some highlights include a Livingston Love package with everything needed for an unforgettable visit, signed first editions by workshop faculty, a writing retreat in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable, and a handmade quilt by workshop director CMarie Fuhrman. Proceeds from the auction help support the Elk River Writers Workshop, with the bulk of the funds used in scholarships for students in need of assistance, especially those from under-represented communities.
